Good deep red-ruby. Pure aromas of cherry, raspberry and flowers; seemed to grow riper with air. Juicy, pure and focused, with modest flesh but very good intensity and perfume to its red fruit, floral and crushed rock flavors. Firmly structured pinot with a perfumed aftertaste. My early look at three 2007s to be bottled under the flagship label, including two new vineyard-designated selections (one of them vinified with 100% whole clusters), suggests that the outstanding 2006 Freestone pinot was no fluke. 2007 Fogdog, Sonoma Coast. Medium-light to medium ruby; attractive, forward, intense, fragrant, plummy, spicy, slightly candied, complex, sweet cherry fruit aroma with hints of cola and vanilla; medium-full body; tight, herbal, spicy, cherry fruit flavors; medium to medium-full tannin; slightly tart on the finish; lingering aftertaste. Highly recommended.
